Roadside Graves - "Reverend Blue Jeans"
A song about cynicism. Roadside Graves are cynics about their characters. Their characters are cynics about marriage. I was a cynic about Roadside Graves before I couldn't turn off this song. Couldn't do it. And now I'm a believer. A believer in tambourines, in a certain chord progression, in vocals delivered like letters pushed through the slot in bunches. [site]
Pants Yell! - "Kids Are The Same"
I've had this album for like two months now, and I consistently put it on when I'm trying to find the most non-threatening thing for company to listen to, that I can still enjoy completely. At first, I thought this was a condescending opinion to hold of poor Pants Yell!, but now I see this is quite a valuable asset. Just sit back. [Buy Recent Drama, play it for your parents]

i just cant get enough of it.
Hmm, I felt that way about REM ca. 1984, Chronic Town and Murmur, before they bothered with things like lyrics, and look what happened there. Enya-like proportions of sin.
Posted by ll kirchner at June 2, 2006 1:52 PM& when I say circa, I mean my parent's house, in, as in, year of, well that had to be 1983, because Tom What'sHisTeeth's Firebird got hit in our driveway that day I was trying to be as gentle as possible and yet he said to me, Kirchner, you listen to the weirdest music
Posted by ll kirchner at June 2, 2006 1:57 PMThat Roadside Graves is very Loudon Wainwright-ish. I like it very much, thank you.
Posted by Eric at June 2, 2006 8:25 PMRoadside Graves was a great pick, Dan. First song I've played loudly in months. Thanks.
Posted by Mr. Tones at June 3, 2006 4:10 AMHello. My name is Meagan, and my friend Torey and I just started an mp3 blog called Yarn and Glue. You can find it here. We've been reading this blog for ages (so sorry for never commenting) and we were wondering if you might give us a slot on your sidebar. We've already given you a prime location because we love you so much.

Yarn and Glue
Dear STG,
I heard "Reverend Blue Jeans" when you first put it up and saved it to my hard-drive. Since then, my computer(the one with it on its hard-drive) has crashed and i'm wondering if it's possible to get this song anywhere else? I wanted to include it on a mix.
